Welcome to Southwell Squash Club

Modern Glass backed courts

Modern courts

Welcome to the Southwell Squash Club web site.   Southwell Squash Club is a well run, committed and ambitious club. We aim to be not only an excellent squash club but also a social and friendly place for people to play the sport they love.

Based at the Southwell Leisure centre we enjoy the use of 3, state of the art, glass backed courts. There are few, if any, better squash courts anywhere in Nottinghamshire.  Courts can now be booked on-line too.

Playing Squash At Southwell

Team Squash

For the first time from 2013/14 we had 6 mens teams in the Nottinghamshire squash leagues. In 2014/15 a further Colts team was added to give match practice to the best junior players.  For the 2017/18 season, which starts at the beginning of October, we will again have 6 mens teams spread through the Nottinghamshire squash leagues.

For a small club we punch well above our weight in team participation.  So if you are interested in playing competitive squash there are options across almost all ranges of ability.

Junior Squash

The Sharks is the junior section of the team.  There is an extremely active junior coaching and development programme.

Internal Leagues

Our internal leagues cater for a wide range of abilities too – so there are lots of opportunities to play competitive squash even if team squash is not for you.

Club Night

Every Tuesday from 7.00 – 9:00 is club night.  Club night is open to all club members and mixes the more leisurely, social players, new starters and one or two team players.  No matter the standard – everyone will get a good game.

Racketball Squash 57

A new development in the club is the introduction of racketball, which since August 2016 has been renamed worldwide Squash 57.  This has been growing in popularity at the club and we have had a team in the Nottinghamshire racketball league.

Interested in Joining?

If you already play squash but are not in a club then come along and reap the benefits of playing in a large circle of like minded people. If you are thinking about taking the game up – come along on club night and give it a go (your first night is always free).

Playing at a leisure centre the overheads are low.  Fees for joining the club are currently set at £55 per year.  If you join at the start of the year there is normally a £5 discount for early payment.
The fee for students is £25, juniors is £20 and for non-playing social members £10 per year. After Christmas the fees are reduced pro rata.
