Momentum seems to have dropped on playing the second round of the Cedric Best.  While we have to stick to the timescale there is no desire to press on with default results where ties are not played.

Nag emails have been sent to all those (and I have nagged myself) who have yet to play.  Please get your games played asap.

Veteran’s Competion

If the momentum has dropped in the Cedric Best it has been really slow in the Veterans’.  Thanks to all those who have played your matches.  Those running behind time have been nagged.  Results will go to defaults if I do not get all outstanding results in this week.

The draw for the ladies competition will be made in the next week.  There is still time for any late entrants.

Plate Competition

The draw for the plate competition will be made next Sunday, 7 March.  Anyone dropping out without playing their first matches will not be included in the draw for the plate.

Saturday 22nd May 2010 – replacing the annual Dinner Dance we are breaking with tradition and holding a Garden Party at the home of our Committee Chair Paul Handley. The club trophies will be presented and there will be food and drink provided in the ticket price. More details nearer the date but put it in your diary now!

And now for something completely different……..

The Tonya Challenge Charity Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 25th April 2010.

It’s a fun day out for all the family and you don’t have to be a keen cyclist to take part. There are 4 off-road routes, 5, 10, 20 and 37 miles through the beautiful Nottingham countryside. Each route starts and finishes at Southwell Rugby Club. All proceeds are going to the Southwell Care Project which raises money for local people with learning difficulties.  For more details visit the website www.tonyas-challenge.org.  It would be great to get as many people from the Squash Club taking part for this very worthwhile cause.

The Plate Competition

The plate competition will be made up of the players who lose their first round matches. Those players who received a bye into the 2nd round and who lose their 2nd round match will also be entered into the plate. Players who concede their first matches without playing will not be eligible for the plate.

Players highlighted in yellow are still eligible for the plate. Players highlighted in turquoise have already been entered into the plate draw.
